Justification |
In recent years, in the computational field, there has been an increase in the research in User-Centered Design. This new discipline studies the creation of highly interactive software systems and the user needs, desires, emotions, references, location, cultural aspects and limitations are analyzed in order to create interactive systems with the colaboration of the target user.
Creation of user-centered interactive systems could be defined as a multi-level problem solving:
- In the design process, it must be considered how users feel more comfortable using an interface or performing an action.
- The development of solutions based on technology with high interactivity.
- Validation of proposed solutions taking into account user’s behavior in real settings.
Mission |
The User-Centered Interactive Systems Master Degree (MISCU) is a professionalizing postgraduate program that contributes to the regional and national growth through the development of interactive systems from a user-centered perspective, deepening in its design, construction and evaluation in order to understand and improve user interaction with computer systems. The work is accomplished with academic commitment, emboding quality and competitive mechanisms, with an efficient and transparent administration through continuous evaluation and an adequate strategic planning in which the institution, academics and administrators participate by mutual agreement.
Vision |
The User-Centered Interactive Systems Master Degree (MISCU) will be a program, avowed by its quality in the regional, national and international level, that incorporates the generation and application of user-centered computational knowledge as a resource for the development and attention of society needs thus contributing to consolidate growth and sustainable development with greater autonomy and competitiveness.
Objectives |
General objective
To train high-level professionals in User-Centered Interactive Computing, with an overall profile and knowledge in emerging technologies of Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centered Design and Interactive Technology, being able to generate computing solutions considering the user’s perspective.
Specific objectives
- To provide the student with theoretical, heuristic and axiological knowledge that supports the know-how of the Master in User-Centered Interactive Systems, which are related to the development of software according to the user’s needs and required for its integration in the professional field. Particularly, skills and knowledge related to the development of user-centered interactive software will be provided, considering human factors and the management, design, implementation and evaluation of interactive technology processes.
- To promote the development of abilities of logical, critical and creative thinking with a constant learning attitude, information análisis and self-learning to build computer based solutions with ethics, commitment and responsability that enables the student to adquire and generate new knowledge useful to propose interactive solutions.
- To contribute to the strengthening of values and attitudes that allow the student to interact and work in teams with openness, tolerance and respect; promoting awareness towards the search for user-centered software solutions that support problem solving.
